Does the gps not always choose the most optimal route? I had to go from Bilbao to London and the gps suggested going all the way through France to cross the Channel from Calais. Bilbao happens to have a port connected to Plymouth, I chose that route instead, but I used to believe the game would always calculate the most efficient route.

Any suggestions? Something similar happened to me too, the game will randomly stop detecting the controller. Go into Documents > Euro Truck Simulator 2 > Profiles and find the profile the controller is working on. If you have trouble then sort the profiles by date modified and the most recently used one should be first, secondly used is next
